Outline

More Story…Less Map

ESRI’s Story Map templates allow users to quickly produce and share their stories using dynamic data and interactive maps.  While including maps can be useful, some of the best story maps include more story than they do map and some contain no map at all.  Telling your story (with or without a map) has never been easier. This workshop will guide users, step-by-step, through the tools and process of creating a great story map.
Contact Scott Rutzmoser with questions.

 Topics

  1. Introduction
  2. Picking a template, understanding the components of the ESRI templates.
  3. Scripting a story, what makes a great story (map).
  4. Organizing digital resources and content.
    • Text
    • Links or Web Pages to embed
    • Images – local or web flickr, google etc)
    • Videos – will need to be posted to YouTube, Vimeo or Ensemble
    • Maps – optional and require some time to create
  5. Producing and sharing a story, using the ESRI wizards and tools to create and present an engaging story.

Lehigh University Room Finder

Spring 2017 promises to be an exiting semester on campus.  Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is growing at Lehigh and we want to make sure that the community is aware of the campus-wide geospatial framework that is now available.  If you’re new to campus or just need a little help getting around you’ll want to checkout the ‘Lehigh University Room Finder‘.

Login with your Lehigh account to search by room number or browse floor plans. Need help or looking to get involved with the ingeo initiative at Lehigh? Contact Scott Rutzmoser (scr211) for more information.
