The Memorial Walkway, which is usually crowded with students commuting from one class to another and noisy as they share little stories from their busy day, is quiet and calm. The rustling sound of the gentle wind and chirping of the birds and crickets make the lane a peaceful place to relax, think, and reflect. Towards the easy end of the walk stands the statue of a man: tall, formal, and sturdy. He is mistaken to be a real person, chatting and reading between his class, by many people at their first sight. If the man is every observed with patience, interest, and leisure, his liveliness and the intricate details that he is made up of can clearly be seen.

Though it looks ordinary from a distance, he is eye-catching at close sight. Standing approximately 170 cm. tall towards the left side of the walk beneath the shade of the trees, completely undisturbed by the commotion around, the figure is dressed formally in white shirt, grey pants, and blue tie. With a book titled All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriot in his left hand, a key on the other, and a red school bag lying on the ground, the figure justifies the name, Between Classes. The tall and tough man has a cheerful face, revealing his frank and outgoing nature.

In a tranquil environment, his joyful personality radiates happiness and calmness. It feels like he is exuding freshness around him. The man seems to have no burden on his mind. Away from all sorts of distress, he gives off a sense of satisfaction. His welcoming smile displays a gentleman’s nature: friendly and approachable. It feels as if time has frozen for him. His only job for all the time that he has been standing there has been to conciliate the people rushing from one place to another and make them smile with his contagious smile. Amid an atmosphere so fresh and flowery that a tired soul would be rejuvenated, the exuberant and juvenile man found a picture-perfect spot.
