ABOUT

Welcome to our Single-Molecule Mechanobiology Lab!

We are a group of bioengineers, mechanical engineers, biophysicists, and biologists at the University of Massachusetts Amherst led by Prof. Frank Zhang. Our research focuses on the biomechanical properties of proteins and cells, the development of new experimental and diagnostic approaches based on single-molecule manipulation and detection techniques, as well as the application of these tools to study cardiovascular diseases, blood clotting, tissue repair, and viral infection.

Our research group moved from Lehigh to the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Department of Biomedical Engineering, in September 2022.
