Horror Homeroom is launching a series of special issues in journal format centered on key events in horror. They will include longer articles than we usually run in Horror Homeroom — about twice as long — by non-academics and academics. We want to promote “serious” horror criticism in readable pieces that are accessible to everyone.

Our first issue celebrates the 40th anniversary of the release of Friday the 13th (1980) – an iconic and, we feel, much underrated slasher film.

Here it is–and you can read it online, as a flipbook, or as a pdf.
