About

As budding disease ecologists and evolutionary biologists, the students of BIOS 296 were challenged to consider the societal value of their studies and take the time to convey scientific concepts in an understandable, respectful, and accessible way. Each student took on a topic of interest within disease ecology and evolution with the goal of learning about it scientifically, considering how it relates to what they have been learning in class, and evaluating how to communicate that topic to non-scientific audiences. They took what they learned and created final products intended to synthesize the subject in an understandable and engaging way. These final products are what we are sharing here, and they include media such as satirical articles (in the style of the Lehigh Lookaway), podcasts, and board games. We hope you enjoy!
