On the third day of Techmas, the resources I received…
Using GIFs in the Classroom
Students respond to humor and seek opportunities to gain their peer’s attention. Through the creation of GIFs, students can share their new learning with peers while learning appropriate humor. One way to begin the day is having a GIF embedded into a Google Slide you have projected onto the SMARTBoard to welcome students. Consider having a “GIF maker” classroom job where a student gets to select a GIF at the end of the day to prepare for the next day. Be mindful of the websites you share with students to search for GIFs.
Explore the resources linked below for ideas on how to create your own GIFs, use GIFs in the classroom, and support students through creating school-appropriate GIFs.
