Using GIFs in the Classroom

Students respond to humor and seek opportunities to gain their peer’s attention. Through the creation of GIFs, students can share their new learning with peers while learning appropriate humor. One way to begin the day is having a GIF embedded into a Google Slide you have projected onto the SMARTBoard to welcome students. Consider having a “GIF maker” classroom job where a student gets to select a GIF at the end of the day to prepare for the next day. Be mindful of the websites you share with students to search for GIFs.
