Profile

Dang Nguyen is currently a 3rd year Ph.D. student in the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department at Lehigh University. Dang was originally from Binh Thuan province, Vietnam, and earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston in 2021. At Lehigh, he is working under the supervision of ChBE Prof. Israel Wachs in the Operando Molecular Spectroscopy and Catalysis Research Lab. His primary focus is understanding the fundamental structure-activity/selectivity relationships of heterogenous catalysts using various in situ/Operando spectroscopic techniques and steady-state/transient kinetic methods. His research projects include the selective catalytic reduction of nitric oxide with ammonia by the supported tungsten trioxide-vanadium oxide on titanium dioxide catalysts and oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane to ethylene by the M1 phase of the unsupported bulk MoVNbTe mixed oxide catalysts.
