I recently read this poem for another class and it reignited my interest for the simpler things in life. I realize that everyone reads poems and comes to different conclusions, but this poem reminded me of the beauty in everyday objects. As it relates to creativity, I think it’s helpful to recognize that even the simplest things can be considered creative. All to often I think I fall prey to the idea that creativity is something so artistic and untouchable to me, however this poem reminded me of the beauty in the simple things. So on your next walk around campus, maybe take your time and try and find your own “red wheelbarrow” because in my opinion “so much depends” on the little things in life because those are the things that spark our own creativity.
