Kaitlin Anderson
Nominated by:
Kadia Hylton-Fraser
Comments from nominator:
Dr. Anderson, though fairly new to the College of Education, has shown repeatedly that she is responsive to students' needs. I have made several requests for feedback or input on various tasks/projects and she has never hesitated to provide constructive and extremely useful insight. Furthermore, the questions she has asked have paved the way for me to think more thoughtfully about ways in which I frame my own discourse. In the short space of time, she is already making a significant impact on my trajectory as a scholar.
Mentor comments:
Mentoring students is probably the favorite part of my job. I believe for all faculty, the opportunity to mentor the next generation of thinkers and leaders in our field is a true honor. I also believe that mentoring is an integral and irreplaceable part of teaching. Without a focus on mentoring and supporting students, what happens in the classroom is trivial by comparison. Finally, the best mentoring relationships are truly reciprocal, and I feel so privileged to be able to learn from and with my students, mentees, and advisees.
