Mentor comments:
When I was a graduate student and postdoctorate, the program I was in did not provide meaningful mentoring activities. So I had to seek and keep looking for mentoring opportunities, especially with my goal of working in academia. Therefore, I understand the struggle that graduate students go through during their Ph.D. as they seek future opportunities. I really enjoy working with graduate students. In addition to research skills, mentoring graduate students for me includes emotional support, teaching them technical and soft skills, helping with networking, and getting them closer to achieving their goals and dreams.

Why I find mentoring meaningful? In addition to self satisfaction, working with curious and fresh minds provide constant intellectual benefits for faculty.
