The Problem

Malnutrition and growth stunting is a major problem in low and middle income countries. Countries in the Africa, specifically, do not have easy access to nutritious food which limits peoples’ growth at an early stage. This can result in a greater risk for illness and delayed mental development.

  • Sierra Leone has one of the world’s highest malnutrition rates. In Bombali district, acute malnutrition in children under age two is twice the national average.
