General
The GSRS accepts submission drafts on a rolling basis.
Before submitting, consider the following:
- Have you talked with your PI about submitting?
- Are you willing to work with a member of our Editorial Board to make sure your post is blog-appropriate?
- Are you ready to enjoy the writing process?
Submitted drafts should be
- 1,000 words or fewer
- authored solely by Lehigh University graduate student or post-doctoral fellow
- accessible to an interested, educated, non-expert audience
Submissions can be shared here using a verified Lehigh University email address.

Guidelines
Time:
Each post should be submitted at least 48 hours before the scheduled publish time.
Deliverable:
- The main text should be submitted in a Word file with figures and tables (if any) embedded in the intended places.
- The tables (if any) should be submitted as figures.
- All figures and tables should be saved and submitted in one folder.
More on figure requirements (including tables submitted as figures):
- We recommend using common formats, such as .png, .jpg, .bmp, etc.
- Colored figures are preferred, as appropriate.
- While there is no strict requirement on the size and quality of figures, the figures should be clear and suitable for the web page.
- Each figure should have a caption.
- Whenever possible the source of the figure should be provided. It is the author’s responsibility to make sure that the use of the figure does not have copyright issues. If you used a figure from some free online image stock, please provide a link to the figure. You may decide to purchase a figure at your own expense, however, we suggest exploring first the free options, such as Unsplash, Adobe Stock, and even AI-generated images.
Citations:
For academic references, we don’t have strict requirements on citation styles. The writer may use a citation style of their preference. For non-academic sources, we highly recommend the writers to provide web links to make the post interactive and engaging (imagine the readers reading your post like wikipedia).
