Catching up with Alumni

In this issue, we will be catching up with alumni :

Jackson Livingstone ’20

  • What have you been up to after graduating from Lehigh?
    • Since graduation, I’ve been using my presidential scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in Politics and Policy here at Lehigh. I started taking classes right after graduation and plan to finish the program this spring. I’m now working on my MA paper/thesis, which will investigate how partisan conspiracy theories spread and gain traction on Twitter.
  • How did your education at Lehigh prepare you for what you are pursuing now, specifically being a history major? (classes, professors, department)
    •  My experiences as a history major have been incredibly helpful for me throughout the master’s program. The graduate courses are more research-intensive and I’ve consistently fallen back on skills that I gained while working on my history honors thesis last year. A lot of the tips and practices that I picked up while completing that year-long assignment have been invaluable for my graduate work and I expect them to be key for me completing my MA thesis/paper this spring.
  • What are your goals for the future?
    • My immediate goals for the future are to complete my MA program and thesis/paper. After that, I hope to find employment at a law firm or in a public service legal capacity before eventually applying to law school, but it’s hard to really know what the future holds. For now, I’m feeling very fortunate for the health of my friends and family, and for having the chance to continue my education here at Lehigh.
