Houria Oudghiri received a PhD in computer engineering from McGill University. She worked as a software engineer for Sun Microsystems in Silicon Valley before joining academia for the last twenty years. Since then, she has taught a wide range of computer science courses in different universities across the world.

 

She started in her home country, Algeria, at the Ecole Superieure d’Informatique (ESI) where she taught logic design and computer architecture courses from 2001 to 2004 and from 2016 to 2018.

She has taught in a women university, Effat University, in Saudi Arabia for ten years (2005-2015). She taught programming courses (C, C++, and Java), data structures, computer architecture, and game programming. She has also supervised more than ten capstone projects in software development.

In 2018, she joined SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Utica NY, as a visiting professor where she taught programming fundamentals, data structures and algorithms, computer organization, and operating systems.

She joined Lehigh computer science and engineering department in September 2019 where she teaches programming fundamentals and programming & data structure courses.
