1st Essay: Summary & Response

In class time I try to summarize without plagiarism after read article about culture shock, and using the way how to to mark APR that I refer site in class. And before the start of writing response essay, I’m summarize the whole article briefly, and made a basic structure. First picture is became the part of my first essay in class.

The first English essay was fun and interesting because I learned a lot of new things, like APA style. However, it was also difficult because I had to make a complete essay by putting everything together that I learned. This essay gave me the opportunity to know how many grammar mistakes I made.

As a result, I learned a essay process in step by step(brainstorming, draft, proof reading, etc) and the aspect of writing and follow the writing process, I spent a valuable time for this essay.

‘This I Believe’ Speech

I believe the power of self-support: The value of support myself

My thesis of the speech was the power of self-support, and I tried to express my experience and thought.

I had I wanted to understand and explain who had the same experience as me. And I Think, I did better.

But there is some problems in this time speech. My pronunciation is not clear, I found some of parts of this speech had the hesitation. I want to figure out these problems in next speech, and I will.

THE TEACHING MUSEUM

Oct. 5th, 2018

 

The Teaching Museum was located on first floor in the Zoellner Art center. Among the countless works, famous artists such as Andy Warhol and Picasso were also on display.

 

Looking at the pictures, we talked freely about the emerging image, and the words and themes listed were all beautiful or creative. Above all, I enjoyed the stories about paintings that curators explained.

 

This picture is my favorite picture at the exhibition. This painting of a woman who was friend with an painter, reminded me of an old and big tree. With this painting of her with dark light, I could see a strong woman who had endured and fought her life.

Celtic Classic

Nov, 28, 2018

I’ve never had a chance to experience Irish culture before. At the festival, there was a shop where you could eat Haggis or buy traditional Irish clothes. The most enjoyable thing for me was the Celtic performance.

One of my favorites was Guinness beer! I drank five beers this day.

 

I had a good time with my friends. It was a great help to build a close relationship.

Campus tour

In class, we learned how to give the clear direction for find a way. At the same time, we search the campus map, and found the history 2 buildings that chosen by us. My building is Linderman Library and University Center.

So I took the pictures and short video of each buildings for explain the buildings feature and function.  Also, I separately record my voice for the narration, and edit the final video.

After the Poem presentation, answer the questions about classmates presentation. It was regrettable that the pronunciation and partially incorrect grammar were not correct, but overall it was satisfactory. It was interesting because I could guess the culture and environment of other friends and think of my hometown.
