Partnerships and Collaborations

  • COVID-19 Communities of Color Needs Assessment: This collaborative project is coordinated by the National Latinx Psychological Association (NLPA), The Alliance of Psychological Associations for Racial and Ethnic Equity, and funded by the National Urban League. The project explores the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on communities of color across the country. The research group focusing on Latinx communities involves researchers from Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, University of Texas Austin, University of Missouri, and Marquette University.

 

  • Latinx Immigrant Health Alliance: This collaborative conducts psychological and health research related to immigration stressors, as well as implementation of community-based interventions to support the immigrant community. The research is conducted in collaboration with immigrant-led organizations, such as United We Dream. The research team includes researchers from Yale University, University of Texas Health San Antonio, University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, University of Houston, and Utah State University.   • Higher Education and Immigrant Mental Health: This research groups examines national datasets to explore the links between immigration stressors, immigrant college students’ mental health, and outcomes in higher education. The research team includes researchers at University of Connecticut and Virginia Commonwealth University.

                        

  • Interdivisional Immigration Project: This project is a collaboration between leaders of 8 different divisions of the American Psychological Association and NLPA. The project aimed to connect mental health professionals with immigration activists across 5 regions on the US, and to develop advocacy recommendations at the regional and national levels. The project was funded by a grant from the Committee on Division/APA Relations (CODAPAR).

  • Undocumented Student Support Initiative at the University of California Santa Cruz: This consultative project is conducted in collaboration with a team, including individuals from the University of California Los Angeles and the University of California Davis. The goal of this project is to support the transformation of UC Santa Cruz into a campus that is more friendly and supportive of undocumented students.
