CEC Monthly Update: Feb 2023

The entire CEC meets on a monthly basis to discuss working groups’ plans and progress.

In the interest of transparency, following each meeting we post a brief recap of what was discussed, as well as any action items.

Highlights from the February 2023 meeting are listed below:

Updates:

• • Working Group 1: Programming is developing tools for curating DI&E events on and off campus, such as a tag on the university events calendar

  • Working Group 2: Communications is creating a repository of existing processes around funding for initiatives and individuals that support equity work (ie scholarship, crowdfunding)

  • Working Group 3: Ambassadorship is planning two DI&E spring mixers: March 9th and April

  • VPEC: Lehigh’s procurement and purchasing offices have started to develop a supplier diversity policy and program. They have begun building the database of Minority/Women Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (MWDBEs) in the region and have sent out a call for proposals as they are searching for a contractor to come in to help build the platform in which they will manage this supplier diversity program.
