Scavenger Hunts

Scavenger Hunts: We are planning two scavenger hunts to help students familiarize themselves with the geospatial technology that pervades the remaining investigations.  The two scavenger hunts focus on Ecology and Built Environments.  Students will use GPS enabled iPads, and ArcGIS software to explore the area around the school to investigate various ecological phenomena (e.g., animal habitats, streams) and built environments (e.g., fire hydrants, clinics, government services).  Mentors will assist students with navigating the area, understanding how to use the iPad, ArcGIS software, and reading/interpreting maps.  Implementation dates are given below.  To learn more about the activity you can view the handouts below, or click here to view the full investigation websites.
