Crunchy Autumn leaves
Trodden underfoot
The air is cool and chill
And the trees withdraw to root

The wheel is turning now
Our hearts are laden low
For thoughts on where we’ve been
And where we are to go

And as those roots lie slumbering
Beneath the driven snow
They will one day emerge again
And then begin to grow

So too our hearts shall rise again
Knowing joy and simple smiles
But for now we walk Fall’s path
For just a little while
