This was the beginning stages of my first iteration of my mechanism. I started with a super quick paper sketch based on what I saw in the mechanism google drive. Next I inserted a screenshot of the mechanism into fusion where I sketched each individual part. Finally, I laser cut the mechanism from chipboard and used brass fasteners to put it together.
I used the same .dxf file to laser cut my acrylic. I have run into some issues with spacing and allowing movement. I used spacers to try and allow for free movement but now need to figure out how to mount it levelly on a backboard.
For my mounted acrylic version, I redesigned the mechanism on Fusion with a rectangular base, giving it more support and another opportunity for strategic spacing so the arms can flow freely without any friction.
