- This week we took on the task of continuing our project from last week. We upped it a level by bringing the material from chipboard to acrylic.
- With acrylic we needed to focus on how the mechanism would operate functionally and have more of a 3-D look.
- I took my previous sketches on AutoFusion 360 and tweaked them so that they would come out the way I imagined from the laser cutter
- Below details the steps I took during the design process:
- Reminding myself of the project: To create a 3-D visual model of last weeks mechanism that is backed by another piece of acrylic.
- The first two pictures show the initial sketches of my idea.
- The third picture shows the DXF layout I sketched before laser printing.
- The fourth picture shows all of the parts that were cut and used for the mechanism.
- The fifth picture shows the building process.
- The sixth and final picture shows the finished product.
- Finally, here is the link to a video of how my mechanism operates:.Moving Mechanism Video – (Link to Video of my operating mechanism).
