My name is Madeline Hayes, and I am an undergraduate student at Lehigh University. I major in English in the College of Arts and Sciences, with a specific concentration in Creative Writing. I aim to go into publishing, and hope one day I can get my own creative fiction published.

In Edward Whitley’s section of English 100, we were taught to analyze and write about the literary canon in different ways. We learned to explicate prose and poetry, apply critical literary theory to the whole of a text- “The Great Gatsby”, in our class- and use primary and secondary sources to see place material within the context of their time periods and cultural moments.
