The tympanum is this triangular space that is above an entrance or window and is commonly decorated. In this cathedral it is within a Gothic arch and is decorated with intricately detailed scenes. These are important biblical scenes between the birth and death of Jesus Christ. The sculptures are surrounded by faded gold detailing, scripture and red walls.
