This visualization provides a deeper dive into the change in CO2 emission levels throughout the years and throughout the different countries. The first tab shows the total CO2 levels per country, and just as in the previous chart, the USA comes out on top as the biggest polluter. The second tab provides another map which shows the change in CO2 emissions over time. When scrolling through the years, it is evident that while the USA has historically been the biggest polluter, China has just recently surpassed them. The last tab compares the growth in CO2 levels over time between China and the USA. It is clear that China’s growth in CO2 levels is much more steep and rapid than the US’s growth. Please click through the tabs to explore each of the three different interactive charts, and feel free to enter full screen in order to see the entirety of the data.
