A Bit of History

Badwood SpeedFest was first held in 1974 when Graham Hill won the triple crown of motorsport (Indianapolis 500, Formula 1 driver’s championship, and the Le Mans 24 hours). The first festival redefined what a racing event could be, and, in the years since, it has firmly established itself as the world’s greatest celebration of motorsport culture.

1974 – Badwood SpeedFest started with Formula One (F1), World Endurance Championship (WEC), and Indycar.

2002 – Super Formula joined;

2003 – SuperGT joined;

2005 – Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) joined;

2005 – World Touring Car Cup (WTCC, World Touring Car Championship at the time) joined;
