Project description:
1) We chose a location to use as inspiration. I chose the Pink Mosque (Nasir al-Mulk) in Iran. We were then given a client to design for, and mine was a famous writer by day, spy/criminal/seductress by night. 2) For the Collage Challenge, we were instructed to mix and match paper doll clothes to create a new, unique ensemble. We could also use supplementary materials and had to include a natural element in each design. I used birds-of-paradise from New Guinea, Australia, and Indonesia as inspiration, utilizing images of their feathers in my designs. (Medium: paper) 3) For the Mood Swings Challenge, each student created a mood board based on a particular artist and chose a song from any singer/musician that we felt went with the mood board. We were then given a mood board from another student to work with. The artist I received was Jenny Holzer, and the song was "Good Old Days" by Macklemore ft. Kesha. (Medium: colored pencils & watercolor paint) 4) For the Shape Challenge, we created garments that had unique shapes defying the human body. (Medium: pencil)
