The Issues Facing Health Education

Everyday, healthcare professionals and workers face a tremendous amount of work, responsibility, and care to each of their patients. Within the population of Sierra Leone, there are around 10% of people that are certified to treat ailing patients. However, certifications does not mean well-equipped for most of these workers. They roughly get around 2 ~ 4 years of medical training for basic first aid and any prevalent issues like malaria, pregnancies, and tuberculosis before being stationed by the Sierra Leonian Government. And education for students are far and few between where there are only several universities that offer medical and public health courses. With the current battle of low resources and training of staff, very few patients get the proper and specialized treatments they require to improve their health.
