Hongping Zhao received her Ph.D in electrical engineering from Lehigh Univerisity in 2011. While at Lehigh, Zhao published more than 23 scholarly journal articles and 40 conference papers – a very impressive level of output for a researcher in the formative stages of their career. Her research focused on improving the nanostructure of semiconductors used in solid-state lighting. Today she is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in the Case School of Engineering at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
