Message to Campus from the CEC

Dear Members of the Lehigh Community,

Welcome back! We hope you enjoyed your break and returned to campus with renewed energy and focus for the spring semester.

The Lehigh Survey

The CEC thanks everyone who completed the Lehigh Survey this fall. The response rate to the survey surpassed our target goal of 40 percent. Your strong participation helps provide a fuller picture of the university climate.

As part of the university’s agreement with the Office for Civil Rights (OCR), the CEC is charged with providing a set of recommendations to OCR based on the information collected in the survey. The CEC is now engaged in the process of crafting these recommendations, which will be delivered to OCR by January 29, 2016.

MLK Commemoration

The CEC encourages everyone to participate in the university’s commemoration of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s life and legacy. This year, the MLK Committee is focusing its efforts on exploring new movements of social activism. This coming week, there are three events we want to strongly encourage you to attend.

Sunday, January 24: Activism: A Conversation Between Opal and Macklemore

Baker Hall, 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.

Wednesday, January 27: “WAKE,” A short film by Bree Newsome. Talk Back facilitated by Dr. Darius Omar Williams. Bring your lunch. Light refreshments will be served.
