Fall 2022 Project Class Projects
La Recta de Sanita (DR) Project Assessment:
Students will continue the work done by EWB over the summer and begin contact with
La Recta de Sanita. The group will prep for the assessment trip to the DR in January 2023
by completing the pre-trip assessment, ICP forms, and performing research on water
sanitation and distribution systems.
Water System Distribution (Stillwater):
Students will be following the summer EWB work plan for the Stillwater, NJ community
to come up with a solution to their water distribution issues and continue the data
collection process. The goal of this project is to improve and update the water distribution process
in a small community based on evolving needs.
MLK Water Gardens:
Students will be working closely with the Food and Waste Subcommittee of the City of
Bethlehem to create a water collection system for the MLK Water Gardens. The goal of this
project is to provide an efficient service for the City of Bethlehem that will fulfill the needs
required by the community.
Allentown Stormwater Management:
Students will be working closely with the Allentown Stormwater Management Team to
develop solutions to new projects being taken on by the community. The goal of this project is to
understand the process by which larger organizations design and implement their pojects.
Students will be conducting research regarding what new opportunities Lehigh’s EWB
chapter can apply their skills to next using previous successful EWB project as a baseline.
The goal of this project s to assess where EWB can allocate resources in the coming semesters.
Fall 2022 Social Class Projects
La Recta de Sanita (DR) Social Team:
Students will work alongside the DR project team to do research into both the
broader culture of the DR as well as an in depth investigation of La Recta de Sanita.
The group will also work closely with the translating team in helping to compose
productive and timely communication with the community.
Infrastructural Planning and Management:
Students will be investigating the best practices in infrastructure management
in the US. The group will research public policy, analyze case studies, and speak
with professionals in public policy or Operations & Maintenance.
Understanding Agricultural Cooperatives:
Students will research agricultural cooperatives in the space of sustainable
development. The group will research case studies and speak with current
directors of modern non-profit cooperatives. The goal of this project is to compile
this information to better understand efficacy of such programs and its downfalls.
