The work of over fifty photographers, representing diverse ranges of age, gender, race, country of origin and political outlook. The multimedia project consists of over 100 images in photographic essays, videos and single and dual images.

The exhibit explores the work of many North American artists who have been fascinated by Cuba. These ‘viajeros’ (travelers) have overcome travel restrictions as well as cultural and economic obstructions since 1992. The images present a wide range of innovative themes that include natural landscapes, urban and rural life, religious traditions and symbols of the Cuban Revolution. Described as innovative and provocative, the exhibit presents a captivating view of the island nation just ninety miles from our shores.

A catalog accompanies the exhibition with essays by co-curator Margarita Aguilar, curator at El Museo del Barrio, NYC; Alejandro Anreus, professor of Art History at William Patterson University, NJ; photographer Mel Rosenthal, distinguished professor of art at Empire State College, SUNY, and Ricardo Viera, LUAG Director.

The essay and video portions of the exhibition can be seen at the Main Gallery, Zoellner Arts Center. Single and dual images will be on display at DuBois Gallery, Maginnes Hall.
