Mendez Caratini has consistently documented the evolving historical changes and cultural heritage of emerging Caribbean nations. His work was included in the Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibit “Our Journeys/Our Stories: Portraits of Latino Achievement ” and his photographs are in the permanent collections of the International Center of Photography and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
