VISUAL NOTATIONS & MARK MAKING
August 3, 2009 - December 11, 2009
Working drawings, notations and marks by Berrisford Boothe, Amy Forsyth, Lucy Gans, Marilyn Jones, Heather Sincavage, Jason Travers, Wes Heiss, Ricardo Viera and Anthony Viscardi.
Opening Reception: Monday, September 21, 6-8 pm
Drawing can be thought of as a way of visualizing a subject through reinvention – a away of collecting and recording impressions and ideas, and making visible the world of one’s imagination. Drawing can study and question the world, recording objects and events, communicating ideas and transcribing memory. It can also represent the sheer joy of mark making and materiality.
Art, Architecture & Design faculty approach drawing in different ways: intuitively, descriptively and purposefully. These recent works represent a fraction of the work each artist has on hand, and will give the viewer some insight into their professional practice.
