Interdisciplinary Research

  • Associate Director of Lehigh’s Institute for Cyber-Physical Infrastructure and Energy (I-CPIE) (2018-Present). I-CPIE is an interdisciplinary research institute focused on developing, optimizing, and understanding the cyber and physical components of infrastructure and energy systems that support all aspects of modern society. I-CPIE will expand Lehigh’s leadership in areas including smart infrastructure for connected communities, sustainable energy delivery systems, cybersecurity for infrastructure and energy, and infrastructure risk and resilience. I-CPIE will expand on existing industrial and university partnerships and through utilization of world-class core facilities.
  • Co-founded Lehigh’s Integrated Networks for Electricity (INE) Research Cluster (2010-Present). INE is a multidisciplinary research cluster (across six departments and two colleges) focused on advancing tomorrow’s electricity systems.
  • Co-founded Lehigh’s Power from Oceans, Rivers, and Tides (PORT) Lab (2014-Present). PORT Lab brings together an interdisciplinary mix of faculty and students (across five departments and two colleges) focused on cutting-edge research to advance the design, operation, and integration of marine hydrokinetic generation systems which derive electricity from ocean waves, tides and currents and from the flow of water in rivers and streams.
