Full Project Title: Safe Motherhood in Sierra Leone – Documenting Stories of Healthcare Innovation and Community Resilience
This summer, Mothers of Sierra Leone has been focused on qualitative research to explore the long term angle of our film. We are looking into the similarities and differences of maternal mortality in the US (a country with an increasing MMR) and Sierra Leone (a country with the world's highest MMR). This summer we focused mainly on the US which was more accessible and we plan to expand our research into Sierra Leone this coming fall.
