To celebrate Lehigh University rivalry week the TGF lab have participated in a 5K turkey trot through the beautiful fall Lehigh campus!
Congratulations to TGF lab undergraduate student Krishna Jayaram for being awarded the Clare Boothe Luce (CBL) Undergraduate Research Fellowship. Her research currently focuses on optimizing an in vitro model of osteoarthritis to recapitulate cartilage degradation under inflammatory conditions. As a CBL scholar, Jayaram receives two years of funding for her UG research as well as conference travel. The funding is offered on behalf of the Henry Luce Foundation and the Rossin College and supports women seeking to study or teach science, engineering, and mathematics. It is awarded to those with excellence and motivation in academics and research during their undergraduate studies.
Tomas Gonzalez-Fernandez, an assistant professor of bioengineering, has been selected to participate in the 72th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting (LINO23) this summer in Germany.
Gonzalez-Fernandez was nominated as LINO23 Young Scientist by the University of California, where he was a postdoctoral fellow in the Leach Laboratory at UC Davis before joining the Rossin College faculty in January 2022.
PhD student Josh Graham has been awarded with the prestigious NSF GRFP award that will support the completion of his PhD at the TGF Lab at Lehigh University.
This award is a huge milestone in Josh’s career and we can’t wait to see his future research endeavors.
Congrats Josh!

Dr. Tomas Gonzalez-Fernandez has been chosen as the Chair of the Biomanufacturing Track together with Prof. Jian Yang (Penn State) for the BMES 2023 Annual Meeting in Seattle.

First lab winter get together!!
Also celebrating the end of the first semester for the lab grad students Lisette Werba, Josh Graham and Chiebuka Okpara!
