The TGF Lab is committed to support the growth and development of independent scientists from diverse and marginalized communities and to ensure that diverse viewpoints are welcomed, shared, heard, and respected and never silenced. We will continue to seek out strategies to improve and support diversity in the lab and all lab members should work to make the lab experience equitable for all. Prof. Gonzalez-Fernandez actively looks to engage to make this commitment a reality. He is currently serves as part of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee at the Lehigh University Biomedical Engineering Department and at P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and he is involved with the activities developed at the Lehigh University Pride Center.

He also serves at the DEI committee of the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) since 2021.
