The Gender-Inclusive Version of the Illinois Rape Myth Acceptance Scale (GIIRMAS) is an 18-item measure that assesses rape myth acceptance. Its items are taken from the Illinois Rape Myth Acceptance Scale, but are adapted such that references to perpetrators and survivors are gender-inclusive (e.g., “they,” instead of “she”). It is intended to provide an assessment of rape myth acceptance which does not rely on heteronormativity or the gender binary, allowing for representative measurement for queer, trans, cisgender, and heterosexual respondents alike.
