Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity

The Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity is responsible for creating and carrying out a plan to build on Lehigh’s effort and commitment to a more diverse and inclusive campus and community. 

The office does so through strategic planning, training, education, and research. They also work closely with the community on relations, policy development and communications. The office works with with all members of the Lehigh community, including students, staff, administrators, deans, local community leaders and groups, and more.

Our advocacy offices

The Center for Student Access and Success

The Center for Student Access and Success has a goal of expanding access to the university for all underrepresented groups with a focus on first generation and lower-income students.

The center also works to ensure that a support system is in place, which enables these students to have an enriching and successful Lehigh experience.  

F1RST

The purpose of F1RST is to promote an inclusive community for first generation and working class students at Lehigh University.

The club seeks to provide an environment for which members can voice their concerns, support each other, and carry out initiatives on campus.

The Center for Gender Equity

The Center for Gender Equity provides students, staff, and
faculty with a dynamic space for conversations, meetings,
and project planning. 

The CGE works to create a gender equitable campus that
exposes today’s systemic and social gender-related barriers. 

The Pride Center

The Pride Center for Sexual Orientation & Gender
Diversity works to build a just, equitable world through
community building and the pursuit of change.

They have a goal of creating a world where people of all
genders and sexualities are able to thrive as their full, authentic selves.

The Office of Multicultural Affairs

The Office of Multicultural Affairs is committed to engaging, developing, and empowering the Lehigh community. They work to create an inclusive environment including mutual respect.

The office values community building, student engagement, and accountability while also commiting to engage, develeop, and act as agents of social change. 

The Passport to Success program, a collaboration between the Office of Diversity, Inclusion & Equity, the Center for Student Access & Success, and the Office of International Affairs, helps students pursue academic opportunities beyond campus, including study abroad, international internships, research opportunities,
and more.

The year-long program provides participating students with a free new passport or renewal and a fully funded educational trip to Montreal, Quebec to try out the new passport!

Students can also receive a study abroad scholarship for a summer or semester program and much more support such as help finding funding and workshops on how to apply for grants and scholarship.

Students invited to join include first year students Lehigh who identify as: first generation students, LUSSI students, RARE students, POSSE students, and students with high financial need. For more information, please email inlusas@lehigh.edu!
