On July 25, 2018, The Morning Call published an article, “And the survey on Bethlehem’s parklet says…,” discussing the results from our summer 2018 parklet study. The data and results come from over 15 hours of on-site observation and a collection of over 70 surveys from parklet visitors. The attraction? A parklet, a raised platform of benches, a table and flowers that debuted this summer in a metered parking spot in front of Joe’s Tavern.
And get this: The new public place has prompted pedestrians to linger on a block where shuttered storefronts contrast with the bustling restaurants and bars around the corner on Main Street, a new survey shows.
